Summary

Amends the

Health Insurance Act 1973
to: simplify administrative processes for recognition as a specialist general practitioner (GP) for Medicare purposes; align Medicare eligibility for GPs with the National Registration and Accreditation Scheme registration requirements; and replace references to repealed legislation in relation to the definition of a quality assurance activity under the Qualified Privilege Scheme. Also repeals the
Health Practitioner Regulation (Consequential Amendments) Act 2010
